Pöytälamppuja Table lamps

Siirin ja Iivarin makuuhuoneessa on kolme uutta pöytälamppua. Tämä on Siirin yöpöydällä oleva.

There are three new table lamps in Siiri´s and Iivari´s bedroom. This one is on Siiri´s night desk

Iivarin yöpöydällä on samanlainen.

Iivari has same kind of table lamp on his night desk.

Kampauspöydällä oleva valaisin on kooltaan pienempi.

Siiri has a smaller lamp on her dressing table.

Koristelinnunpönttöjä Tiny bird houses

Pikkuruisia linnunpönttöjä voi tehdä hyllyllä tai pöydällä pidettäviksi koristeiksi, pieniksi rakennusrymiksi. Näissä itse pönttö on puuta ja katto kartonkia.  Katolle ja seiniin olen liimannut vihermateriaalia, jota olen tilannut Doloresista. Materiaali muistuttaa sahajauhoa ja siinä on vihreitä ja keltaisia "roskia". Olen liimannut maahan myös värjättyä jäkälää.
You can decorate your tables or shelves with small bird houses. These bird houses are made of wood and card board . The roof and walls are decorated with material that is like sawdust with green and yeollow parts. I have glued also dyed lichen on the ground.

Nämä pöntöt on tehty puun oksista. Väriltään nämä ovat aika tummia. Pöntöt olen liimannut maalattuun vaneripalaan ja ympärille olen liimannut pieniä kiviä ja samaa vihermateriaalia kuin ensimmäisessä kuvassa.
These bird houses are made of branches. The colour is quite dark. I have glued them on a piece of vaneer and there are some tiny stones around the houses. The grass is made of same material than on the above picture.

Näitä valmistuu helposti yli oman tarpeen, koska näitä on niin nopea tehdä.

It is quite easy and fast to make these bird houses.

Linnunpönttö A bird house

Ideat voivat joskus olla hyvin yksinkertaisia. Linnunpöntönkin voi tehdä muutamassa minuutissa. Tämä syntyi kauniista viinipullonkorkista, palasta kartonkia ja coctail-tikun pätkästä. Katon maalaamiseen tarvittiin vähän akryylimaalia.

The idea can sometimes be very simple. You can make a bird house in a couple of minutes. You need a cork of wine bottle, some card board fot the roof and a coctail stick. And  acrylic paint for the roof.

Mehua ja hilloa Juice and jam

Mehun keittämiseen tarvitaan mehustin. Nyt Siirilläkin on sellainen ja hän ottanut sen heti käyttöön. Valmistumassa on sekamehua, jossa on omenaa ja aroniaa. Aroniasta tulee kaunis punainen väri ja omenasta hyvä maku.
You need a steamer to cook juice. (I don´t know the english word for this kettle).  Siiri has got that kind of kettle. She is cooking juice of apples and chokeberries. The red coulour is of chokeberries and the good taste of apples.

Omenoita hän sai naapurilta. Niitä oli niin paljon, että hän vei osan kellariin.

She got apples from her neighbour. She took the rest of the apples to the cellar.

Samalta naapurilta hän sai myös kurkkuja, tomaatteja, sipuleita ja vihreitä omenoita.

The neighbour gave her also some cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and green apples.

Siiri teki omenoista myös sosetta.

Tämä kesä on ollut erikoinen. Kevät jäi hyvin lyhyeksi ja kesä alkoi nopeasti. Osa kasveista on alkanut kukkia uudelleen ja niinpä Siiri löysi metsästä tuoreita lakkoja, jotka hän poimi hilloa varten.

Siiri cooked apple jam.

This summer has been very unique. The spring was very short and the summer began fast. Some of the plants have started to make flowers and fruits again. So it was bossible for Siiri to find some cloudberries for jam.

Iivarin piti tehdä kellariin hyllykkö hilloja ja mehuja varten. 

There wasn´t shelves enought for jams and juices. So Iivari had to build a wooden shelve.

Kellari on saanut myös täydennystä. Nyt hyllyiltä löytyy mehun lisäksi sitruunoita, appelsiineja, vihreitä ja punaisia omenoita, perunoita ja ruusukaalia.



There are some new items in the cellar.
There are now bottles of juice, lemons, oranges, green and red apples, potatoes and  Brussels sprouts on the shelves.

Sieltä löytyy myös sipuleita, tomaatteja, kurkkua, porkkanoita, perunoita ja bataattia.




There are also onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, potatoes and sweet potatoes on the shelves.

Lattialta löytyy koreissa kukkakaalia ja salaattia, puikulaperunoita ja pyöreitä perunoita, sipuleita ja herneitä.
There are cauliflowers, salad, potatoes, onions and peas in the baskets on the floor.

Kellari on täyttynyt jo aika täyteen. Ulkona on sää muuttunut jo kylmäksi. Kurpitsat pitäisi kerätä ja niille pitäisi löytyä vielä tilaa kellarista.

The cellar is quite full. The weather has become colder. The pumpkins should be collected very soon and there should be some space for the pumpkins in the cellar.

Uusia huonekaluja Some new furniture

Lastenhuoneessa on kaksi uutta punottua jakkaraa. Puuosat on tehty grillitikuista ja istuinosa on punottu pinkillä ja limellä virkkauslangalla.

There are two new seatings in the childrens room. They are made of barbecue sticks and crochet cotton thread. Muru chose the colours: pink and lime.

Maton päälle on ilmestynyt myös valkoinen nuken sänky, jota on koristeltu pienin kynsitarroin.Sängyn päällä on virkattu pitsipeite.

There is also a new bed for a doll. It is white and decorated with tiny nail stickers. There is a lime bedspread over the bed.

Kehto A cradle

Iivari haluaa näyttää teille uusimman työnsä, jonka parissa hän on työskennellyt viime päivinä. Se on kehto. Sille ei ole vielä käyttöä, mutta koska oli sopivaa aikaa, päätti hän tehdä sellaisen.

Iivari wants to show you his newest furniture. It is a cradle and he has been working with it many days. They don´t need it yet, but he had some spare time. So he decided to do it.
 

Materiaalina oli raita, joka on väriltään todella elävän väristä. Kehto on lakattu vesiohenteisella lakalla ja kulmiin on kiinnitetty metallivahvikkeet.

It is made of goat-willow. The lively colour of it is very beatiful. The cradle has been varnished and there are metal corner-parts on it. 

Työkalut järjestykseen The tools in order

Joskus työkalut ovat hukassa ja niitä ei löydä. Iivari teki omille työkaluilleen seinätelineen, josta ne on helppo ottaa työhön. Hän siivosi verstasta myös hieman.

Sometimes it is difficult for Iivari to find some tool. He decided to put them in order by fixing the tools on the wall. He cleaned also a little bit.

Siiri on hankkinut Iivarille nahkaisen esiliinan, jotta miehen vaatteet pysyisivät puhtaampina. Iivari ripusti esiliinan naulakkoon, sillä hän ei mielestään tarvitse sitä.
Iivari on vetänyt jalkaansa myös kengät ja uudessa vyössä roikkuu puukko.

Siiri bought an apron to Iivari. It is made of leather. Siiri thinks Iivari´s clothes are so dirty and the apron could prevent it. Iivari has hung the apron on the rack because he thinks he doesn´t need it. Iivari has new shoes, a belt and a knife. He is so pleased with them.

Puutöitäkin hän on tänään tehnyt. Uusi kannellinen puuastia.

Iivari has carved a new container today.
