Inspiraatio Inspiration

Siirillä on ollut viime päivinä paljon energiaa kaikenlaisiin töihin. Hän on virkannut, neulonut sukkaa ja siivonnut. Päässä on pyörinyt monia uusia ideoita.

Siiri has had a lot of energy to do many kinds of tasks lately. She has crocheted, knitted socks and cleaned her sewing room. There has been many new ideas in her head.

Ei ole vaikea arvata, että sukat ovat Iivarille.

Näistä virkatuista isoäidin neliöistä pitäisi valmistua torkkupeitto.

The crochet granny squares are for a  blanket.

Siirillä on suuri määrä kankaita. Kaapit olivat epäjärjestyksessä ja hän päätti järjestää ne.

Siiri has a lot of fabrics. Her cupboards are out of order and she decided to organize them.

Siiri pyyhki myös pölyt.

She wiped also the dust.

Ompelukoneen hän käänsi ikkunaa vasten. Ja öljysi ompelukoneen. Onneksi ohjekirja löytyi helposti.

The sewing machine is now in front of the window. She oiled the machine. Luckily the manual was easy to find.

Iivari teki nauharullille pienen telineen. Ohje siihen löytyy Marian blogista. Teline ei ole aivan täysin tehty ohjeen mukaan, mutta idea on sieltä peräisin. Ompelutarvikerasiastakin löytyy nyt kaikki tarvikkeet helposti, sillä ne on järjestetty.

Iivari made a small stand for Siiri´s ribbons. You can find the tutorial  here. Iivari didn´t make it exactly according to the tutorial, but the idea is from Maria. Siiri organized her sewing accessory box. Now it is easy to find, what is needed.

Hyvää Ystävänpäivää!

Siiri on ostanut Iivarille suklaarasian, koska Iivari on hänen paras ystävänsä. Hän rakastaa Iivaria.

Siiri has bought a chocolate box to Iivari, because Iivari is her best friend. She loves Iivari.

Sitten kun rasia on tyhjä, sinne voi laittaa vaikka pikkuleipiä. Rasia on hänen mielestään kaunis.

When the box will be empty, she can put some cookies in it. She likes the box.

Iivarillakin on jonkinlainen yllätys Siirille. Se on aamiaistarjotin.

Iivari has also some kind of surpise for Siiri. It a breakfast tray.

Let the sun shine!

 Tänään on satanut koko päivän ja tiet ovat hyvin liukkaita. Ei ole ollut viisasta mennä nyt ulos.

Siiri on leiponut tänään. Tällä kertaa hän teki tämän näköisiä leivonnaisia.

It has been raining all the day and the roads are very slippery. It is not been vice to go out now.

Siiri has done some baking today. This time she made heart shaped pastry.

Runeberginpäivä Runeberg´s day

Kuumetta ja flunssaa Fever and flu

Joku ei ole avannut joululahjojaan. Miksi? Arvaatko? Nämä eivät ole minun lahjojani, mutta minulle kävi samalla tavalla.

Somebody hasn´t opened her Christmas gifts yet. Why? Do you guess? These gifts are not mine, but they could be, because I´m in the same kind of situation.

Mitä nämä lahjat mahtavat sisältää?

What do these gifts include?

Lahjat kuuluvat Siirille. Hän makaa sairaana sängyssään. Hän on ollut kuumeessa ja flunssassa jo kaksi viikkoa, eikä jaksa tehdä yhtään mitään. Joulusiivot jäivät Siiriltä kesken, mutta onneksi Iivari teki ne loppuun.Voiko flunssasta olla niin sairas, ettei jaksa avata lahjojaan. Kyllä voi!

Iivari on tuonut Siirille kuumaa mehua, mutta sitä ei Siiri ole juonut. Vaalean punainen hyasintti on Siirin yöpöydällä. Hyasintti on Siirin lempijoulukukka, mutta sitäkään hän ei jaksa katsella nyt.

These gifts belong to Siiri. She is sick and is lying in her bed. She has had fever and flu already for two weeks. And she isn´t able to do anything. Her Christmas cleaning were completed by Iivari.

 Can somebody be so sick from flu, that she isn´t able to open her gifts. Yes, I think so.

Iivari has brought hot juice made from black currants for Siiri,  but she hasn´t drunk it. There is a pink hyacinth on Siiri's bedside table. Hyacinth is Siiri´s favourite Christmas flower., but she is too sick to watch it now.

 Iivari on huolissaan Siirin terveydentilasta. Nyt on aika mennä lopultakin lääkäriin.

Iivari is concerned about Siiri's state of health. Now is the time to go finally to the doctor.

Siivouspäivä Cleaning day

Siiri on päättänyt siivota huoneet yksi toisensa jälkeen. Olohuoneessa ehditään olla vähiten aikaa, joten hän aloitti sieltä. Siiri laittoi esille punaisen kynttelikön ja rasian vihreitä kuulia. (Tehty Marian ohjeella.)

Siiri has decided to clean the rooms one by one. She started from the living room, because it is the room, where they have not time to stay now. The red chandelier and box of marmalade candies  are now on the table. (The marmelade candies and the box is made according to Maria´s tutorial.)

Sohvalla on Joululehtiä, joita on kiva selailla. Sohvalle hän vaihtoi tyynytkin.

There are some Christmas magazines on the sofa. It is nice to read them. Siiri changed also her Christmas pillows on the sofa.

Kirjakarusellin päälle hän laittoi pienen koristekuusen. Kaktuskin on alkanut kukkia.

Iso joulukuusi kannetaan sisälle vasta lähempänä joulua. Se tulee kirjakarusellin paikalle. 

There is a little decoration tree on the book carousel. The cactus has started to bloom. (The big Christmas tree will be carried in only some days before Christmas.)

 Samanlainen pienempi kuusi on jakkaran päällä rappusten lähellä..

Joulukortteja on kiva kerätä yhteen paikkaan. Siiri ompeli niille pienen lokerikon. Puisista helmistä askarrellut tontut on tehty Marian ohjeella.

It is nice to collect Christmas cards in the same place. Siiri sewed a small  pocket for them.

Lunta, lunta, lunta Snow, snow, snow

Oleko Sinä säilyttänyt vanhoja kortteja ja joululehtiä? Kortteja löytyy varmasti jokaiselta, mutta lehtiä ei varmaankaan.

Have you stored the old greeting cards and Christmas magazines? I think that everyone has old cards, but no Christmas magazines.

Etsin Internetistä vanhojen joululehtien kansikuvia, kopion ne ja pienensin sopivaan kokoon sekä tulostin niistä Siirille lehtiä. Huomasin, että monissa lehdissä oli omistajan nimikirjaimet. Lehdet ovat olleet 50 vuotta sitten arvokkaita omistajalleen ja niitä on säilytetty monia vuosia.

I looked for on the Internet of old Christmas magazines, copied them and resized and printed them for Siiri. I noticed that there were owner´s initials written on many magazines. The magazines have been  precious to its owner 50 years ago, and they have been stored for many years.

Siirillä on myös arvokas Joulumuistot-kirja, jonka hän on saanut lapsena.

Siiri  has also a precious Christmas memories book, which she has received as a child.

Kuten huomaat on hän saanut lapsena vain muutamia lahjoja, mutta ne ovat olleet sitäkin mieluisampia.

As you can see, she has got only some gifts as achild, but they have been very pleasing.

Meille on satanut valkoinen ensilumi. Toivomme lunta lisää. Siiri rakastaa lunta. 

Hänellä on muutamia joulukoristeita, jotka hän haluaa näyttää teille nyt. Radiosta kuuluu jo joululauluja. (Radio on tehty Marian ohjeella Fimosta.)

It has snowed recently. And hopefully it will snow a lot more. Siiri loves snow. 

She has some Christmas decorations, that she wants to show you. The radio plays carols. (It is made from Fimo according to Maria´s tuto.)

    Siirillä on salaisia keskeneräisiä puuhia. Ne on tehtävä valmiiksi.

Siiri has some secrect unfinished chores to do.
